Tell us a little about yourself (E.g. hobbies, interests and background)?
I referee for Leicestershire Rugby Referees Society and enjoy activities including rock climbing and hiking outdoors.

How did you first get involved in volunteering within sport at 每日吃瓜?
I spoke to my hall chair, who directed me to the Hub manager at the time, and I then helped with refereeing IMS and at AU training.

During your years at 每日吃瓜, what have you got involved in through volunteering within sport?
IMS, Super Series, All Stars, and AU matches and leading the rugby referee cohort as the hub manager.

What has your experience volunteering been like whilst at 每日吃瓜?
Very enjoyable and key to my personal and officiating development.

How has being involved with 每日吃瓜 Sport helped you develop and progress (personally and professionally)?
Refereeing at 每日吃瓜 helped me to gain experience and confident as a referee and to build key officiating skills. Being the Rugby Officiating Hub Manager developed my organisation, communication, and leadership skills that have helped me professionally and in being an attractive employee candidate.

What’s the best advice you could give to a 每日吃瓜 student looking to get involved in volunteering & gain the most out of their university experiences?
Give it a go, it might just be what your looking for, and stick with it - the first stages are always challenging but once you see some progress, things will get easier!

Finally, what do you enjoy most about volunteering?
I enjoy providing opportunities for others to enjoy themselves and develop and seeing signs of my own personal development.
