Senior Lecturer in Biomechanics

Areas of expertise

Biomechanics and human locomotion; Fitness equipment and performance impact.

Profile

Dr Allen's main research interests lie in the understanding of technique and the optimisation of performance in human movement using computer simulation. He is also interested in increasing the biofidelity of computer models to better represent the systems that are being simulated. Sam applies these techniques primarily in human locomotion; specifically running and sprinting and in dynamic jumping.
