Profile

Dr Michael Shaw curates, teaches and makes sculpture. His research entails creating giant site-specific inflatables and sculptures in response to museum collections. These can be viewed on his website () and Instagram (). 

As curator of Burghley Sculpture Garden since 2005, he annually selects and installs over 20 large scale works in the outdoor environment. He has created sculpture in the public realm and is knowledgeable about arts commissioning and cultural policy.

Dr Shaw is a confident and affable speaker and has discussed sculpture on various TV and radio programmes including Flog It, Country File and BBC Radio Devon. He has created multiple documentary films about various artist sculptors on his YouTube channel .
